The Davidson County Election Commission approved the results of the May 6 election on Monday.
The results of the election have been marred by voting irregularities, such as double voting and equipment failures.
Six people voted twice during the election, which had an extremely low voter turnout. Their names will be turned over to the District Attorney for investigation.
“You know, clearly people are viewing it differently, but in this case, someone was dismissed from employment. And that, to me, indicates that it was a significant issue,” Commissioner Tricia Herzfeld said.
She had asked for a full report on the election issues ahead of Monday’s meeting.
Other commissioners downplayed the voting problems, even after one poll worker has been fired as a result of the irregularities.
