The Nashville Sounds defeated the Oklahoma City RedHawks 2-1 Sunday behind a strong performance by Jimmy Nelson.

In his ninth consecutive quality start, Nelson (5-1) held the RedHawks to one run on four hits through seven innings of work.

He finished with five strikes outs to lock in his fifth victory of the season.

Donovan Hand recorded 1 1/3 scoreless innings to clinch his eighth save of the season and is one save shy of the PCL lead.

The Sounds start a four-game series with Omaha on Monday night at Greer Stadium.
