A Murfreesboro father was arrested Tuesday after he tried to pick up his son from school while intoxicated.
According to the arrest report, the child refused to leave with the father, Brandon Patrick, because he had been drinking.
An officer on patrol spotted Patrick’s Jaguar and pulled him over on Southgate Boulevard.
Patrick smelled of alcohol, had slurred speech and red, glassy eyes, according to the report.
When asked if he had been drinking, Patrick said he’d had “several vodka tonics.”
Patrick refused to take a field sobriety test, telling the officer to “just take him to jail for DUI.”
Nashville’s News 2 visited Patrick’s home Wednesday, but no one answered the door. Neighbors said the family have not lived at the home long.
Patrick’s attorney, however did say, “There’s a criminal process pending and there’s no comment at this time.”
Patrick, 48, was charged with DUI and violating the implied consent law. He was booked into the Rutherford County jail on $2,500 bond.
