A California father and son put their minds together to create a homemade roller coaster in their backyard.
The 200-foot roller coaster, named “The Caution Zone,” took six weeks to complete and reaches speeds of 14 miles-per-hour ABC News reported.
Father Will Pemble said the inspiration for the backyard roller coaster, which is only powered by gravity, came after he and his son visited an amusement park in Orinda, California, located just outside of San Francisco.
Pemble told ABC News his 10-year-old son Lyle was the “brains” behind the project.
“He’s a studier,” Pemble explained. “My son knows everything there is to know about roller coasters. He helps design them and does the math.”
Since completing the roller coaster in their backyard, the father and son are now working on a second ride in a friend’s backyard.
Pemble said Lyle has created hundreds of designs on simulation programs and plans to build roller coasters when he grows up.
