Vanderbilt’s seven-game winning streak came to an end Tuesday night. The Dores dropped an 11-7 decision to Louisville in the annual “Battle of the Barrel.”

Vandy starter Walker Buehler got in a hole early giving up a double and homerun in the  first to give Louisville the 3-0 lead.

The Commodores responded in their first at bat with a grand slam off the bat of Vince Conde.

Buehler’s night was cut short after his struggles continued in the third inning. He gave up four runs in the inning before being replaced by Jared Miller. Miller gave up two runs on three hits in 1 1/3 innings of work.

Zander Weil homered in the third to pull Vanderbilt within one, but a two run eighth inning for Louisville solidified the Dores’ 11-7 loss.

Vanderbilt returns to action Thursday for a three-game series at Florida.
