A woman narrowly escaped a man at Percy Priest Lake Sunday after he allegedly attempted to rape her.
According to police, Matthew Weise walked to the lake with the victim and reportedly told her he wanted to have sex, but the victim said no.
Weise, 40, is accused of then grabbing and dragging the victim to the lake and submersing her head under water.
The victim reported she fought back and each time she tried to escape, Weise dragged her back to the lake. The affidavit states this happened three times.
Police said in an attempt to get away, the victim told Weise she would have sex with him if he took his clothes off.
She waited until his pants were down and ran to the shore, grabbing a tree for safety until someone in the area heard the commotion, causing Weise to flee.
The victim suffered scratches on her body, a bruise to her left arm and a torn skirt.
Weise was ultimately arrested and booked into Metro jail Monday morning on one count of attempted rape.
His bond was set at $50,000.
