Pizza Hut has partnered with a former designer from “Project Runway” to pay homage to the Kentucky Derby this weekend.
The race, which takes place this Saturday, is known for its traditions, but particularly the fancy hats adorned by attendees.
The global pizza chain and designer Angela Bacskocky have created their own hats in recognition of the head-wear.
Each one is made solely out of pizza boxes, wing boxes, and other materials Pizza Hut uses to package or serve its food inside its restaurants.
The hats will be displayed on the infield Saturday, as well as given away through the company’s social media outlets until the race begins.
Also in honor of the race, Pizza Hut is offering a deal on their breadsticks with the purchase of a pizza, as well as changed the name temporarily to “Thoroughbred Sticks” to honor the thoroughbred race horses in the derby.
