Many families in Nashville are cashing in on Music City’s growing popularity.

Nashville resident Deborah Ezell is getting messages from all over the world from travelers who want to rent her Nashville home for a summer vacation.

“A lot people want to come just to explore the Country Music Hall of Fame, Grand Ole Opry and downtown Nashville,” she said.

Ezell listed her home on a Web site called Airbnb, which lets anybody put their spare couch, room or house up for rent.

Guests have the opportunity to book lodging for a fraction of the price of a hotel room.

Airbnb released a report Thursday showing they are flooded with interest about Music City.

According to the site, Nashville ranks first in the United States as the fastest growing summer destination for 2014. Its popularity is up 365% over this time last year.

Ezell said when it comes to letting people into your house, homeowners have to use their best judgment.

“There are times when I have turned people down. You have to trust your instincts and get a feel for the questions they’re asking,” she explained.

In Nashville, hundreds of families have their homes listed on the Airbnb site.

“We have met so many cool people from South Africa, Australia, Germany and lots of Canadians,” Ezell said.
