Road closes due to head-on collision in Trousdale County

A road was closed in Trousdale County after a head-on collision left two people injured.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Lee Bowera, 49, was driving along Highway 109 at 5:23 p.m. Friday when the vehicle drove over chicken waste in the road and lost control.

The car then slid across the center line and hit another vehicle head on.

Bowera was injured and taken to University Medical Center Hospital.

The driver of the second car, 47-year-old Leon Parrish, had injuries but refused medical attention.

The northbound and southbound lanes of State Route 376 were closed from Bass Road to Templow Road.

The lanes reopened around 7 p.m. Friday night.
