Nashville Predators goalie Pekka Rinne is headed to the World Championships next month to play for Finland.

The Preds star goalie missed 51 games last season after suffering a hip infection.

Rinne played his best hockey in the final four games of the season posting a 3-0-1 record including a shutout of Phoenix.

It is Rinne’s third trip to the World Championships, but his first since 2010.  The tournament starts May 9 in Minsk, Belarus.

Also headed to the tournament are Seth Jones and Craig Smith who will play for the United States.

Ryan Ellis will represent Canada.  Roman Josi announced last week he will play for Switzerland.

Mattias Ekholm just completed his rookie season in Nashville and confirmed today he will play for Sweden.
