A Donelson bowling alley was burglarized overnight Thursday.
Police told News 2 the burglars smashed a glass window in the front of the business to break into Strike and Spare on Old Lebanon Road sometime between Midnight and 2 a.m.
Once inside, they used a crowbar to get into a safe that was hidden in a back room and took items from it.
They also ripped a security camera from the ceiling and damaged the cash registers. The thieves got away with cash and a cell phone.
The manager, Johnnie Welch, was sleeping in the back of the business.
He told News 2 he didn't hear anything and called 911 after he discovered the damage early Friday morning.
Police are working to get footage from security cameras.
The business has since reopened.
