The driver of a pickup truck was uninjured after slamming into the back of an 18-wheeler on Interstate 24 Tuesday morning.
The semi then pulled to the side of the interstate near the Bell Road exit around 5 a.m. with the truck still wedged underneath it.
News 2's First Alert Unit was first on the scene and found the pickup truck driver outside in the daze. Our crew led him to the cab of his truck so he could sit down while authorities made their way to the scene.
Paramedics ultimately checked out the driver, who was uninjured. He was released at the scene.
Alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
The driver of the semi was not injured and did not receive medical attention.
Two lanes of Interstate 24 were shut down as authorities cleared the scene.
