More than 20 cars were damaged in a fire at the Memphis International Raceway Saturday.
According to the Commercial Appeal, firefighters were called to the scene at 4 p.m. for a brush fire outside the racetrack.
When firefighters arrived, they called for backup. In all, two dozen firefighters were on the scene for nearly an hour trying to get the fire under control.
22 cars were damaged, but no one was hurt.
Brent Perkins, a spokesman for the Shelby County Fire Department, said the fire may have been caused by hot exhaust from cars touching high grass.
