A two-year-old girl remains hospitalized Friday after nearly drowning in a pool.
The accident happened around 8:45 a.m. near Rogers Lane and Hicks Hollow Road on the north side of Lebanon after the toddler wandered out of the house.
Officials told News 2 the little girl's mother performed CPR on the child before emergency officials arrived to the scene.
The child was breathing when she was airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.
She was last listed in stable condition and is expected to remain hospitalized to undergo observation.
Officials told Nashville's News 2 it is always difficult working situations involving young children.
“It just gives you a sick feeling when you hear something like this, especially with a child,” Wilson County Chief Deputy Larry Bowman said.
