Nashville native Brandt Snedeker is off to a good start in his quest for his first green jacket.
The former Vanderbilt University star fired a two-under par 70 in his opening round.
Snedeker started quickly with birdies on one, eight and nine to get to three-under, but two quick bogeys on the back nine and on his final hole of the day cost him a shot at the lead.
The 33-year-old had the Masters in his grasp in 2008 before collapsing in the final round. He has six career PGA victories, but is still searching for his first Major Championship.
