A man who was hit by a car in downtown Nashville last week has been released from the hospital.
Rodney Sanders was intoxicated and jaywalking when he was struck by a vehicle Thursday night, according to police.
The incident happened at the intersection of Lafayette Street and 5th Avenue South.
Mohamed Muse, a hired car driver in Nashville, witnessed the collision while picking up a client.
“I saw the man get hit,” said Muse. “He went way up in the air and hit his head on the floor.”
Muse grabbed the first aid kit from his trunk and ran over to apply bandages to Sanders, who was bleeding.
Eventually police and paramedics arrived and took over.
Sanders was transported by ambulance to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with a severe head injury.
Hospital officials said he was released on Saturday.
The driver of the car that struck Sanders was identified in a police report as Daryl Seay, 43, of Nashville.
Seay was reportedly driving on a revoked license and without auto insurance.
He was arrested at the scene.
