A Rutherford County commissioner is accused of stealing his opponent's signs.

According to authorities, Joe Frank Jernigan allegedly stole four signs from opponent and Murfreesboro police officer Matthew Harvey.  

The signs are estimated to be worth $12.

Jernigan is charged with misdemeanor theft and is scheduled to appear in court.
