A Facebook user spotted a dangerous eye disease in a toddler after her mother posted a picture of her online.

When Tara Taylor shared a picture of her 3-year-old daughter Rylee most people commented on the girl's smile.

However, one Facebook user noticed a white glow in Rylee's left eye, according to ABC News.

Stacy Carter said she recognized the glow because a family friend's son had an eye disease with the same symptom.

“I immediately sent her a message and said, ‘Hey, it could be nothing, or you know, there could be something really wrong with Rylee's eye,'” Carter explained.

The Taylors took their daughter to three different doctors before she was diagnosed with Coats' disease.

According to Dr. Milan Ranka, a pediatric ophthalmologist at New York University, the condition comes from an abnormal development of blood vessels behind the eye and could lead to blindness.

Doctors said Rylee's condition was advanced, and she would have been blind in her left eye had the disease been found later.

Her eye has improved after two surgeries.

The family said they are thankful that sharing Rylee's photo on Facebook saved their daughter's eyesight.
