Metro police arrested a man after officers observed him making a drug transaction from his vehicle on Thursday.

Calvin “Pops” Cook was arrested shortly after the transaction on Old Hickory Boulevard and Gibson Drive.

At the time of his arrest, he was in possession of 3.5 grams of heroin.

Cook, 58, is charged with heroin possession in a drug-free school zone, felony possession of heroin and methadone and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

He is being held in lieu of $90,000 bond.

Cook received a three-year probated sentence last month for selling methadone from his home.
