LOUISVILLE, Ky- The top-seeded Tennessee Lady Vols' season came to an end Sunday in the Louisville Region semifinal against number four seeded Maryland.
The Terrapins defeated the Lady Vols 73-62 behind senior Alyssa Thomas, who scored a career-high of 33 points for Maryland.
Meighan Simmons scored 31 points for Tennessee in the final game of her college career. She finished fifth all-time at Tennessee with 2,064 career points.
The Lady Vols had a 3-2 lead over Maryland in the first minute of the game, but trailed for the remainder of the contest.
Tennessee committed 22 turnovers in the game and shot just 35.8 percent from the floor.
Tennessee has been to the Sweet 16 on 32 occasions while reaching the Elite Eight 26 times.
However, they will miss the Final Four for the sixth year in a row.
The Lady Vols finished the 2013-14 season with a 29-6 record.
