A 10-year-old boy from Piney Flats, Tennessee made his debut on the Grand Ole Opry Friday night alongside bluegrass legend Ricky Skaggs.

Carson Peters began his music career as a toddler when his grandmother gave him a ukulele.

“I didn't think I was going to get any better than I was when I was three,” Peters told WJHL-TV.

Peters said he has always wanted to perform the Grand Ole Opry stage, though his parents never expected the dream to come true at such a young age.

“He's always said, ‘One of these days I'm going to play at the Grand Ole Opry' and that's been his dream… We didn't know it was going to happen at 10-years-old,” mother Jamie Peters said.

Carson Peters has also performed on “The Tonight Show.”
