Wednesday the NFL announced that it will experiment with moving the extra-point kick back to the 20-yard line for two weeks during preseason play.

Previously the kick was attempted from the two-yard line, but the new change will make the kick a 38-yard attempt.

The teams agreed to see how the longer attempt would play out before making a permanent decision.

The league has also tabled a proposal to extend the 20-yard trial to 25 yards permanently during the season.

If the league decides to make the extra-point kick 25-yards during the regular season, it would extend that 37-yard attempt to 43 yards.
