NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell says a playoff expansion is a possibility for next season.
While he didn't say that was the direction the league was heading in, he did say that it couldn't be ruled out.
The discussion is based around adding two more teams to the current 12, one for each conference. Goodell believes it would make wildcard races, along with late-season division races more compelling.
He added that there was a lot of interest in the idea, and that some of that interest may be turning into support for the expansion.
An increase in TV revenues would also be a result of the two-game expansion.
