A man was arrested in South Carolina after he allegedly strangled and beat his girlfriend with an anger management book.
Our sister station, WSPA reports Tyler Ford, 23, was charged with criminal domestic violence second offense after the incident Monday.
Police said the victim reported the two had an argument which escalated into the alleged abuse.
Ford is accused of strangling her, threatening to kill her, and putting her cell phone in the oven to prevent her from calling 911.
Authorities said Ford also “popped” his girlfriend's infant daughter twice in the legs because she was crying.
The victim told police she cut him on the arm before fleeing the apartment.
Once in custody, Ford allegedly told deputies that he also struck his girlfriend in the foot with a rolled up anger management book.
He was booked into the Spartanburg County jail. A bond amount was not immediately known.
