Green, red, and pink vertical stripes line an Upper East Side Manhattan wall, set inside the pink stripe is a matching ATM but instead of reading “24 Hour Banking,” it reads in big white letters, “Cupcake ATM.”
Sprinkles, known as the world's first cupcake bakery, opened in Beverly Hills, Calif. in 2005. The bakery now has 14 locations across the country.
The company debuted the cupcake ATM at its original Beverly Hills location in 2012.
Stocked with the same fresh flavors as are in-store, the ATM dispenses freshly made cupcakes 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
For only $4.25, flavors like red velvet and dark chocolate are available in a small, single-serve box with only a quick swipe of a credit card. Additional flavors include: black & white, chocolate coconut, Cuban coffee, lemon meringue, strawberry, vanilla and vanilla milk chocolate.
The ATM is restocked several times a day to ensure cupcake quality.
Other cupcake ATMs are located in Dallas, Atlanta, Chicago and Las Vegas.
