PUTNAM COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) – The great niece of country legend Johnny Cash will be laid to rest this week in Putnam County.
Courtney Cash, 23, was found stabbed to death March 19 inside a wooden box at her home in Baxter, about 100 miles east of Nashville.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Crest Lawn Funeral Home in Cookeville.
Wayne Masciarella, a friend of Cash’s, is charged with first degree murder for her death.
He is due in court in Putnam County Wednesday.
Police said the two and Cash’s boyfriend Austin Johnson got into an argument after a night out.
Johnson, who is also the father of Cash’s young daughter, was injured during the altercation but managed to escape with the little girl.
