A Massachusetts mom is lucky to be alive after using herself as a speed bump to stop her car from rolling into traffic, saving her twin daughters' lives.
Mindy Tran, 22, of Lawrence, Mass., laid on the ground behind her Honda Accord when it began rolling into the street, ABC News reported.
Her car wasn't in gear, and her two-year-old daughters, Saleen and Sydney, were in the back seat.
Tran's neighbor came to help by jumping in the car and removing the girls from the car uninjured.
“My daughters and I are all right and keeping our heads up,” Tran told ABC News. “I'm lucky to be alive.”
Responding firefighters stabilized the car with wooden blocks and then used an airbag to lift the car off of Tran.
She was then airlifted to a Boston-area hospital where she is recovering from a broken leg and dislocated shoulder and hip.
“I don't consider myself a hero,” Tran said. “I am just a mother.”
The twins will celebrate their birthday April 13 and the hospital has offered to let them have their party at the facility with their mom.
