One eastbound and westbound lane of Interstate 40 near Jefferson Street in Nashville will be closed this weekend due to construction.
The Tennessee Department of Transportation will be installing a containment system for future sandblasting and painting of the bridge.
The ramps to I-40 from Jefferson Street and 28th Avenue North will also be closed.
Two lanes will remain open in each direction.
The closure began Friday at 9 p.m. and remains in effect through Monday at 5 a.m.
The installation is part of a $2.2 million bridge repair project that began in October 2013 and is set to be completed in the summer.
Information about the closures will be posted on portable messages boards in the area.
Drivers are advised to seek alternate routes, reduce their speed and use caution if they must drive through work zones.
