An Indiana teenager’s Instagram account honoring and documenting the life of his ailing great-grandmother has turned into a social media sensation.
Zach Belden said he set up the social media account for his 80-year-old great-grandmother Betty Simpson soon after she was diagnosed with cancer.
The 18-year-old told ABC News he wanted the pictures to not only celebrate Simpson’s life, but also record her battle with the devastating disease.
“He loves me so much, that’s why he did it. He doesn’t want to lose me and he’s just good to me,” Simpson told ABC News. “I didn’t even know he was doing this.”
Simpson added she has been very sick and has almost died on two different occasions in the past six months.
Simpson has gained more than 40,000 followers since Belden began the account in early January.
