A Clarksville native and Fort Campbell based soldier missing in action for five decades is now receiving the honor he deserves.
Staff Sergeant Lawrence Woods was among eight service members killed after his plane was shot down in Vietnam in 1964.
Woods was the first Tennessean declared missing leading up to the Vietnam War. It wasn't until an expedition between 1997 and 2010 that his remains were recovered.
Woods will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery on March 21.
Governor Bill Haslam has ordered flags to fly at half-staff on the day of his burial.
