Clarksville-Montgomery school board members will decide Tuesday night how to make up days that were missed because of snow and ice last week.
“This is probably the worst year that I can remember since the flood of 2011,” said school spokesperson Elise Shelton. “We've probably missed more days in as long as I remember.”
The schools have built-in snow days, but those were used at the beginning of January due
to single digit temperatures.
Last week, the district missed five days. One of those days will be made up by adding 30 minutes to each school day between April 7 and April 24.
“It takes 13 days of 30 minutes extra to make up one day”, Shelton explained.
Options to make up the remaining four missed days are limited.
Shelton has said spring break, March 24 through March 28, and the TCAP test, which starts in April, will not be affected.
Saturdays are also not an option.
