On day two of the NFL's free agent signing period, the Tennessee Titans began to address their defense signing former Pittsburgh Steeler Al Woods.
Woods played the last two years in Pittsburgh and gives the Titans an experienced nose tackle as they look to transition to more of a 3-4 look on defense under new coordinator Ray Horton.
Woods is 6'4, 307 pounds and was taken in the fourth round of the 2010 draft by the Tampa Bay Bucs.
Titans General Manager Ruston Webster said, “Al is a player with great size, strength and toughness. He also has the ability to play all three spots on the defensive line, which adds to his value.”
Woods gets a multi-year deal. Financial terms were not released.
