A man is facing charges after police said he tried to bribe a Berry Hill officer.
According to an affidavit, the officer pulled over 26-year-old Andrew Shellnut late
Wednesday night for speeding on Franklin Pike.
The officer let Shellnut go after he told him he was headed home from a trip to Alabama.
Five minutes later, the same officer spotted Shellnut speeding again on the same road.
This time, authorities said the policeman could smell alcohol on Shellnut's breath.
A DUI officer was called to the scene and it was determined that Shellnut was impaired.
Once inside the patrol car, Shellman pleaded with the officer to take him home and reportedly
offered him $200 dollars to do so.
Shellman is now facing a charge of bribery of a public servant.
