Vanderbilt walk-on Carter Josephs started his first game of his career Saturday against Ole Miss. Josephs replaced senior guard Kyle Fuller in the starting line-up.
Now, head coach Kevin Stallings says he is sticking with Josephs for the upcoming SEC tournament.
“He'll start Wednesday unless something happens,” Stallings said of Josephs. “He was playing well. I think we were +15 while he was in the game. That's a pretty good number for a guy who only played 21 minutes.”
Josephs did not have any points in Saturday's loss to Mississippi.
He had five assists, two turnovers and one steal. He will start over Kyle Fuller who has struggled for the Commodores as of late. Fuller started in Vanderbilt's loss to LSU Thursday but was just two of 15 with seven points. Fuller has scored less than 10 points in each of his last six games.
Vanderbilt plays Mississippi State Wednesday in the opening round of the SEC tournament.
