A Mt. Juliet couple is hopeful that a video will help find the driver responsible for damaging their vehicle in a hit-and-run accident that occurred in a parking lot.
The incident occurred around Noon Saturday in the parking lot of Cinco de Mayo located on Nonaville Road.
According to a video of the parking lot, just after Larry and Hollie Wiggins entered the Mexican restaurant with their son, a red Land Rover backed forcefully into their Honda Element, damaging the rear hatch.
“It's their fault,” Larry Wiggins said. “They should have been responsible for it.”
The unidentified driver of the Land Rover stayed in the parking lot for a few moments before pulling to the side. Minutes later, a black pick-up truck appeared to drive to the side of the restaurant where the Land Rover remained parked.
Moments later, both the SUV and pick-up truck exited the parking lot together.
Since the incident last week, Wiggins told News 2 she has called as many as 30 body shops asking them to be on the lookout for the damaged Land Rover.
“I'd like for someone to suffer the consequences,” Hollie Wiggins said.
Larry Wiggins added, “”I would like for them to step forward and do what is right.”
Mt. Juliet police have the video of the incident, but the suspect's license plate is not visible.
Anyone with information on the incident is urged to call Mt. Juliet police at 615-754-2550.
