Tennessee still on NCAA bubble

With only two games left in the regular season Cuonzo Martin and his Tennessee Vols are still firmly on the NCAA bubble.

The Vols certainly helped themselves last week with a big win on the road at Mississippi State and then a blowout of rival Vanderbilt in Knoxville.

Those wins improved Tennessee's record to 18-11, 9-7 in the SEC.

ESPN Bracketology has the Vols as an 11 seed playing in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.  They are listed as the 66th team in a 68 team field, so there is no room for a slip up at Auburn or at home against Missouri to finish out the season.

CBS.Sportsline has the Vols on the outside looking in at this point, so clearly they have work to do.

Tennessee is 7-8 against top 100 teams this season, but a strong strength of schedule (13) could help propel them to their first NCAA Tournament of the Cuonzo Martin era.

One win that keeps looking better and better is a blowout of Virginia early in the season.  Sunday the Cavaliers closed out the second ACC Championship is school history.
