Police: 4 men shot in Jackson hotel parking lot

JACKSON, Tenn. (AP) – Police in Jackson are investigating the shooting of four men in a hotel parking lot.

Police said officers were called to a Roadway Inn near U.S. Highway 45 at about 2 a.m. Sunday.

Police said a fight had taken place after a birthday party at the hotel, and shots were fired by at least two people.

Four men were transported either by ambulance or personal vehicle to Jackson-Madison County General Hospital with gunshot wounds.

A 23-year-old Jackson man was in critical but stable condition. A 24-year-old Brownsville man was treated and released.

Two men, age 24 from Jackson and age 21 from Brownsville, were both transferred from Jackson to a Memphis hospital in critical condition.

A 25-year-old Oakfield man was taken into custody and held for questioning.
