Vanderbilt women's basketball will finish the season without sophomore Heather Bowe.
Bowe was kicked out of school for the spring semester for a violation of university academic policy. She is expected to return to school this summer.
“I take full responsibility for my mistake,” said Bowe. “I respect Vanderbilt University and look forward to returning as soon as possible.”
Bowe started 21 games for the Commodores averaging over 5 points per game.
“Although Heather's current situation does not detract from the positive impact that she has had on our program and the university, she must face the consequences of her actions,” said Vanderbilt head coach Melanie Balcomb.
