The Memorial Magic was alive, but it was not enough for Vanderbilt to upset the top ranked Florida Gators. Kyle Fuller missed a 3-point field goal in the final seconds and the Commodores fell to the Gators 57-54.
It is the 20th straight win for the Gators who are still undefeated in the SEC at 15-0 and are ranked number one for the first time this season this week. The last time the Gators were number one they were upset at Vanderbilt seven years ago.
Dorrian Finney-Smith had 19 points for the Gators, and Patric Young chipped in 12 more inside.
Rod Odom led the Commodores with 12 points. Turnovers plagued the Commodores the first 30 minutes of the game as the Gator press helped produce 16 turnovers.
With the win, Florida clinched at least a share of its third SEC title in four years. The Gators can win the league outright Saturday against LSU.
