An inmate is facing more charges after she allegedly lunged at and assaulted an officer Wednesday.
Kathy Towles, an inmate at the correctional facility on Harding Place in Nashville, is charged with aggravated assault on an officer.
According to reports, Towles was told to place her hands behind her back while in the medical area of the facility.
Towles refused and stated, “I'm gonna break your neck” before lunging at the officer.
Police stated she then kicked the officer in the face and beat her in the head with a pair of handcuffs.
The officer suffered a concussion and cuts to both of her hands.
Records show Towles was found guilty of a previous domestic assault on Monday.
