Ongoing freezing temperatures have heat repair company's running from call to call, but in some cases forcing some cold home owners to have to wait for repairs.
Denise Conti told Nashville's News 2 her heat went out at her family's Nolensville home four days ago. Upon waking up Friday morning temperatures inside the home was just 42 degrees.
“We are sleeping with nine blankets. At least three comforters, three thermals and two sets of flannel sheets,” she said, adding that she is wearing five layers of clothing and her winter parka.
Conti said she called a repair company when her heating system quit working earlier this week. On Friday, the mother of two learned the heating company does not have the right parts and it could be Monday before the system can be repaired.
“I was very upset. I was very emotional. I'd like to take off my layers. I would like to feel my fingers,” she said.
Conti continued, I know people are overwhelmed. I know people are without heat. Everyone is facing this and the companies are overwhelmed.”
The Conti family said they plan to brave the chilling temperatures one more night.
A lead technician is scheduled to come and assess their heating unit on Saturday.
