Snow forecasting is always a pain in Middle TN!
Models can be all over the place several days out, and we are almost always on the “rain/snow line”.
That being said, here is my preliminary verdict for Sunday night through Monday morning (it is Saturday morning as I write this).
As the low forms to our south and moves northeast we are in a cold rain most of the day on Sunday.
By late night, especially after midnight there could be a mix of sleet and snow in the north and northwestern areas including Springfield, Clarksville, Dover, Erin, Paris, Dickson.
Nashville could see sleet and freezing rain through sunrise as temps drop just below 32.
Then, on the tail end of the system, Nashville could get some snow showers/flurries, with only a dusting possible.
Ultimately, any significant accumulations would be in those northwest and northern areas where 2-3″ could occur. Parts of west KY could see 3-5″.
Our southern and southeastern counties will see primarily rain.
Important note: Even though any significant accumulations would be northwest and north of Nashville, the sleet and freezing rain with temps at or below 32, followed by snow showers/flurries could make for slick roads for the Monday morning rush hour commute in the Metro area.
I will have more tomorrow! Something always changes in weather!
