National pizza company Papa John's presented Titans safety Michael Griffin with a check for over $16,000 Tuesday.
The money goes to Griffin's program, Sacks 4 Kids, which provides sacks of healthy foods and snacks for kids to take home on weekends, when they otherwise do not have access to nutritious meals.
The total of $16,853 was raised through sales of Papa John's “Michael Griffin Special.”
The deal consisted of any large pizza and 2-liter drink for $12, with $1 going to the program.
Sacks 4 Kids is active in four Nashville area high schools and is in its second year with Papa John's.
Griffin accepted the check from Papa John's Tuesday afternoon at Pearl Cohn High School.
“I am very excited to accept this check from Papa John's for my Sacks 4 Kids program,” says Griffin. “I can't thank them enough for all of their support, as well as the thousands of Titans fans who chose to help me fight hunger by supporting this promotion.”
Along with the check presentation, Papa John's provided pizza and beverages to approximately 25 Pearl Cohn students who benefit from the Sacks 4 Kids program.
