A Nashville woman is outraged the heating system in the home she is renting is not working properly.
Nicki Begley told News 2 the heating system in the home went out in November.
She said her landlord sent someone out to fix the problem, but it didn't help.
“It runs, it just runs. They didn't fix it,” said Begley.
The last couple of months have been rough for Begley's family.
“It has been real cold. I keep my oven open. I have a heating unit, but I leave it in there with my son,” she said.
Begley's son has cerebral palsy and does not do well in the cold.
“This morning when I came in here, his face was cold. So I put his hat on, and wrapped him up until his nurse got here,” explained Begley.
To make matters worse, Begley's electric bill skyrocketed because she uses the stove to heat the house.
“My electric bill is $800 because the unit was constantly running. I knew it was going to be outrageous,” she said.
News 2 tried to reach Begley's landlord several times for comment, but he has not returned our calls.
We also went to his listed address.
A member of his extended family told us he no longer lives there and couldn't put us in touch with him.
We are waiting to reveal his name until we hear his side of the story.
Begley, however, said she wants answers.
“He's not living like this. So there is no reason for me to be living like this.
Begley said she reported her landlord to the Metropolitan Housing Authority but still wants him to fix the problem.
