Metro police said charges have not been placed against a seven-year-old boy who brought his mother's gun to school Tuesday.
According to police, the child showed the trigger locked .22-caliber pistol to a classmate, who reported the weapon to a faculty member at Inglewood Elementary School.
Police said the boy put the gun in his backpack at home without his mother's knowledge.
Due to the child's age, he was allowed to go home in the company of his mother.
The child's mother was clearly angered by the incident, police said, adding the trigger lock safety device was intact when the weapon was recovered.
