Heading into Saturday's match up against Texas A&M, James Siakam averaged 7.1 points per game for Vanderbilt. He finished the game with a career-high 22 points, ten rebounds and a victory. The 66-55 win over the Aggies was the first SEC road victory for the Commodores.
Trailing 34-33 in the second half, Vanderbilt put 13 straight points on the board to build a solid lead over the Aggies. Texas A&M cut the lead to four with less than 5:00 to go, but a 14-7 run by the Commodores was enough to seal the deal and hand the Aggies their straight loss.
The win brings Vanderbilt's all-time record against the Aggies to 3-0.
The Dores will go for their second SEC road victory Wednesday night at Georgia. They return to Memorial Gym next Saturday to take on Mississippi State.
