Just six days after being hired by Vanderbilt, new head coach Derek Mason nearly has a complete coaching staff.

Friday, he announced the hiring of seven coaches, including his two most important positions, offensive and defensive coordinator.

Mason will likely control the defense but hired former Stanford assistant David Kotulski to run it.

Former UCLA head coach Karl Dorrell is the new offensive coordinator.

Other coaches joining the staff include Charles Bankins (running backs/special teams), Gerry Gdowski (wide receivers) and Keven Lightner (offensive line).

The defensive staff also features Kenwick Thompson (outside linebackers) and Vavae Tata (defensive line).

Mason and the Commodores have just two more spots to fill on their staff.
