A Nashville couple charged with murdering their 22-month-old son remains behind bars Thursday.
Investigators discovered Christopher and Jamey Chaffin's son Bryson dead at their Bell Grimes Lane home last June.
Chaffin told police her son woke up crying on the night of June 19. Her husband reportedly went and picked up the child and brought him to their bedroom.
The 29-year-old woman said she laid with Bryson before taking him back to his bed.
Bryson was discovered dead the following day by his seven-year-old sister when she went to check on him.
A toxicology report revealed the toddler had a high level of morphine in his body at the time of his death.
Police said Jamey Chaffin had been prescribed the medication for back, though it remains unclear how the morphine got into the child's system.
Both are charged with murder and child neglect and remain jailed in lieu of $150,000 bonds.
The three other children were removed from the home on June 20.
