One lane was blocked on Interstate 24 Tuesday morning due to a giant boulder in the roadway.
The large rock fell around 8:30 a.m. near mile marker 42, just before the Briley Parkway entrance on I-24 east.
There were no cars in its path at the time. No one was hurt.
Geotechnical crews came to inspect the area and check the stability of other rocks.
Workers used a front end loader to push the boulder off the interstate around 10:15 a.m.
Eastbound lanes were back open by 11 a.m.
