A man is dead and a woman is presumed dead after the pair and another man fell into the Chicago River early Monday morning as they were trying to find a cell phone.
ABC News reported a 26-year-old Minnesota man dropped his phone and slipped into the icy waters as he was trying to retrieve it.
Witnesses quickly called 911 after seeing the trio in the frigid water. Crews pulled the two men out of the freezing water; however the woman has not been located.
Divers are continuing to search for the woman. Her identity has not yet been released.
The 26-year-old man died after arriving to a Chicago hospital. His identity was not immediately released.
The 23-year-old man involved in the incident remains in stable condition.
